Space Blaster
A retro arcade shooter drawn on grid paper. UFOs of every shape and size, from tiny scouts to a shielded mothership, line up in formation and swoop down at your little rocket. Fire rapid laser bolts to zap them, dodge their alien goo, and see how many levels you can clear.

How to play
- Hold and drag to steer your rocket along the bottom of the page. It fires a rapid stream of lasers while you hold.
- Each hit zaps a UFO. The big mothership has a shield and takes two hits.
- UFOs swoop down at you and drop alien goo. Get bumped or gooed and you lose a ship. You start with 3.
- Clear every UFO to finish the level. Each level they swoop faster, dive more often and drop more goo.
Controls
- Hold and drag on the screen to steer and fire. With a mouse, move to steer and hold the button down to fire.
- On a keyboard, use the arrow keys or A and D to move, Space to fire and P to pause.
- Pause stops the action, and the Sound button turns sound effects on or off.
Tips
- UFOs are worth double while they're diving, so stay brave.
- Your lasers fire a little faster every level and come out in two streams from level 5.
- Zap the power star for 12 seconds of an extra laser stream.
- Watch for goo and slide out of the way. It falls toward where you were.
- You earn an extra ship at 20,000 points and again at 70,000.

Space Blaster is a nod to the fixed-screen arcade shooters of the early 1980s, drawn on grid paper. UFOs of every shape and size line up in formation and then peel off to dive at your little rocket, and you answer with rapid laser bolts while dodging their alien goo.
Each level adds faster dives and a shielded mothership to crack, and your lasers get a little quicker as you go. It is a game of pattern reading: learn when each UFO breaks formation and you can clear whole squadrons without a scratch, and diving UFOs are worth double for the brave.
