Note Quest
A friendly word-guessing game in a sunny classroom. Every note passed your way hides a secret word. Type a guess and the letters light up to show which ones are right. Solve note after note as the words grow from 4 letters to 6, and see how many you can find before you run out of gold stars.
- Word puzzle
- Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
- Hints
- Saves your best score
How to play
- Pick Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced, then type a real word and press Enter.
- After each guess the letters change colour. Green means the letter is in the right spot. Yellow means it's in the word but in a different spot. Grey means it isn't in the word.
- Solve in fewer guesses for more points, and solve notes in a row for a streak bonus.
- Miss a word and you lose one of your 3 gold stars. Solve words in a row to win a star back.
- Beginner has 4 and 5-letter words, 7 tries and 2 hints. Intermediate grows from 4 to 6 letters with 6 tries and 1 hint. Advanced has 5 and 6-letter words, 5 tries and no hints.
Controls
- Tap the letters on the on-screen keyboard, or type on your computer keyboard.
- Enter checks your guess and the delete key removes a letter.
- Hint shows you one letter of the secret word for half points. Beginner gets 2 hints per note, Intermediate 1, Advanced none.
Tips
- Start with a word that uses lots of different common letters, like a word with A, E and S in it.
- Grey keys on the keyboard are letters you can skip.
- A yellow letter is in the word, so try it in a new spot on your next guess.
- Save your hint for when you're down to your last couple of tries.
About Note Quest
Note Quest is a word-guessing game in the style of the daily word puzzles many families play together, drawn in pencil. Each note hides a secret word; type a guess and the letters light up to show which are right and in place, right but in the wrong spot, or not in the word at all.
Unlike a once-a-day puzzle, Note Quest keeps going. Words start at four letters and grow to six, and you have a limited supply of tries to spend on wrong guesses. The word list is family-friendly, and all the words are ones you would actually use.
