How to play

  1. Move to aim, then let go to drop a doodle ball into the jar.
  2. When two of the same kind touch, they merge into the next doodle and you score points.
  3. Merges climb from Dot to Stripe, Zigzag, Swirl, Checkers, Sprinkles, Wiggles, Starry, Confetti, Rainbow and Super Doodle.
  4. Two Super Doodles bounce off together for a 100 point bonus.
  5. The game ends when the stack stays above the dotted line at the top of the jar.

Controls

  • Drag or move your mouse to aim, then release or click to drop. On a keyboard, use the arrow keys and Space.
  • Pop removes one doodle of your choice. You start with one and earn another every 500 points.
  • New game starts over, and the Sound button turns sound effects on or off.

Tips

  • Keep small doodles together and big ones along the bottom or sides.
  • Check the Next window before you drop so you can plan where the following piece will go.
  • A merge can bump into a matching neighbor and set off a combo, so line up chains when you can.
  • Save your Pop for a small piece stuck between two big ones.

About Margin Merge

Margin Merge is the pencil-sketch twin of one of the most played merge games on our sister site. Two identical pieces that touch combine into the next one up the chain, and the physics are loose and bouncy, so every drop shifts the pile. Here the pieces are smiling doodle balls in a glass jar on a desk, each one fancier than the last, drawn in pencil and coloured pencil.

It is a game about patience more than reflexes. Dropping a small piece next to its match is easy; keeping the big ones from getting buried under the small ones is the skill. Your best score is saved on your device, and the Next window is worth a glance before every drop.
