Sketch Search
A cheerful word search on a notebook page. Every level has a theme, like Pets, Art Class or Ice Cream Shop, and a list of words on a sticky note, hidden in a framed board of graph-paper letter tiles. Drag across a word from its first letter to its last and it lights up in a bright colour and gets crossed off your list. Find them all before time runs out. The boards get bigger as you go, and the words start hiding on a slant and even backwards.
- Word
- Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
- Over 25 themes
- Saves your best score
How to play
- Pick Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. Each one keeps its own best score.
- Each level has a fun theme and a list of words to find.
- Drag in a straight line from the first letter of a word to its last letter.
- Beginner words only go across and down, with small boards and plenty of time. Intermediate adds slanted words, then backwards ones. Advanced has big boards with words hiding in every direction from the start, a tighter clock and double points.
- Longer words score more, quick finds earn a bonus, and time left over is added at the end of the level.
- Run out of time and you lose a star and get a fresh puzzle. Lose all 3 stars and the game is over.
Controls
- Press on the first letter of a word and drag to the last letter, then let go.
- Works with a finger on a phone or tablet and with a mouse on a computer.
- Tap Hint (or press H) to flash the first letter of a word you haven't found.
- The Sound button turns sound on or off.
Tips
- Look for unusual letters like K, Y, W or Z first. They are easy to spot and often start a word.
- Find the longest words early, while the board is still full of letters to check.
- Find words quickly one after another for bonus points.
- You get one extra hint for every level you clear, so don't be afraid to use them.
About Sketch Search
Sketch Search is a word search with a theme on every board and a list of words hidden in a grid of letter tiles. Drag from the first letter of a word to the last and it lights up and gets crossed off. Find every word before the timer runs out to move to the next board.
Boards start small with words running left to right and grow into larger grids with words hidden diagonally and backwards. It is a relaxed game that still gives you a reason to hurry, and the themed lists make it a nice one to play with kids who are learning to spell.
